The City of Springfield announced on Friday that on the previous day, Thursday, May 15th, 2025, Springfield Fire Department Chief Ed Canny swore in fourteen new firefighters at the Springfield Firefighters’ Lake Club; these fourteen individuals graduated from the Springfield Fire Department’s Training Academy.
The academy training includes Emergency Medical Training, basic firefighting operations, and Advanced Emergency Medical Training.
The following firefighters are currently assigned to the Springfield Fire Operations Division and will continue training throughout their careers.
