The National Weather Service at Lincoln reported a wind gust of 68 miles per hour at Abraham Lincoln Capital Airport after 7:30 Thursday evening.
Reports of 70 mile-per-hour gusts were received in Logan County.
The National Weather Service said storm surveys and confirmation of any tornadoes will take place over the next several days.
Another round of showers and thunderstorms is expected late Saturday afternoon into Saturday night followed by cooler temperatures in the 70s on Sunday.
