Operation Cookie Share: A Sweet Success at Hickory Point Bank

By Michele Mitchell Jun 20, 2025 | 2:08 PM

Tuesday, June 17, 2025, was a day filled with generosity, community spirit, and, of course, cookies! The Girl Scouts of Central Illinois, in partnership with Hickory Point Bank, hosted Operation Cookie Share—a heartfelt initiative aimed at sending boxes of beloved Girl Scout Cookies to active first responders and military personnel overseas.

The event was a lively celebration of service and support, with live broadcasts throughout the day from Woodward Community Media radio stations. 104.5 WFMB (WFMB-FM), 99-7 CVS (WCVS-FM), and Sports Radio 92.3 FM/1450 AM (WFMB-AM) were there with familiar voices like Sam Madonia and Greg Halbleib from Sports Radio, Josh Roberts from 104.5 WFMB, and Bondsy from 99-7 CVS kept the energy high and the community engaged.

Operation Cookie Share is more than just a fundraiser—it’s a mission. Over the years, the Girl Scouts of Central Illinois have delivered over $1,000,000 worth of cookies to the brave women and men serving our country, both at home and abroad. This incredible achievement has even been recognized in the Illinois Congressional Records, a testament to the program’s impact and success.

“Once again, we had a very successful Operation Cookie Share event at Hickory Point Bank in Springfield, raising over $7,000, which makes close to 1,200 boxes that will be distributed to the military, first responders and healthcare workers! It was a beautiful day and Girl Scouts of Central Illinois thanks all the event sponsors, donors and volunteers, who contributed to make the day special for both Girl Scouts and our Military and First Responder Heroes. …And, it’s not too late to contribute! You can still help us reach our goal by donating online at operationcookieshare.org, or stop in at Hickory Point Bank to help us send more cookies to our Heroes!”

Beyond supporting the troops, Operation Cookie Share also empowers young girls. By participating in the program, Girl Scouts earn badges and develop valuable skills in entrepreneurship, goal-setting, and community service.
