AAA predicts more than 72 million people will travel at least 50 miles from home during the upcoming Independence Day holiday period from tomorrow through next Sunday, July 6.
The forecast is 1.7 million higher than last year and 7 million higher than 2019.
The projection includes more than 61 million who plan to travel by car, a 2.2 percent increase over last year and the highest volume on record.
