Stray Cats Cancel First Two Shows Of Fall U.S. Tour Due To Brian Setzer’s “Serious Illness”

Stray Cats were forced to cancel the first two shows of their fall U.S. tour due to frontman Brian Setzer’s serious illness, including performances on October 25 in Mount Pleasant, Michigan, and October 26 in Rockford, Illinois. Setzer, who has an autoimmune disease that has recently affected his ability to play guitar, expressed that he was “heartbroken” over the cancellations. “I know this affects so many people and I am devastated to have to deliver this news,” Setzer wrote in a statement shared on the band’s Instagram. “I’ve been trying to do everything I can to go on and do this show, but it is just not possible.” Despite these setbacks, the tour is set to resume on Wednesday (October 29) in Louisville, Kentucky, and is scheduled to run through November 23. This marks the rockabilly group’s first live shows since August 2024, and follows last week’s release of two new songs – “Stampede” and “Teenage Heaven” – their first since 2019.
