The Illinois Department of Corrections is under fire from state lawmakers after an audit revealed 40 findings.
Capitol News Illinois reports the department is allowing employees to record overtime hours in addition to paid time off on the same day.
Department Director LaToya Hughes said that is a requirement of the union’s contract.
The audit also found the department is not reporting the progress of sex offenders released from custody to local police agencies.
