The Illinois State Police are warning residents of a new text scam that has perpetrators claiming to be ISP reaching out because of a supposed “vehicular conduct violation.”
State Police are reminding you that they do not send text messages demanding immediate payment or threatening action.
State Police also urge people not to click on any links or enter them into a web browser, not to reply or provide personal information and to delete the message and report it as spam.
