The Logan County Board on Tuesday approved a 12-month moratorium for data centers in order to develop regulations for the large-scale projects.
Hut 8 has proposed building a data center near Latham.
During a special zoning committee meeting last week, a company representative said a moratorium could kill the Logan Prairie Data Center project because agreements with Ameren would expire.
The company did not say if the project would move forward.
