A batch of mosquitoes have tested positive for West Nile Virus in Macon County.
While the mosquitos in the batch collected by the Macon Mosquito Abatement District tested positive there are currently no reported human cases of West Nile Virus in Macon County.
The Macon County Health Department described the current risk of infection as low, but it is encouraging residents to take preventive measures by eliminating standing water around their homes and protecting themselves from mosquito bites.
