The City of Springfield has announced the date of its fourth annual BUILD Springfield outreach event.
An initiative championed by Mayor Misty Buscher, BUILD Springfield (Beautification, Unity, Innovation, Leadership, and Development) was designed to promote long-lasting, positive change to Springfield’s neighborhoods through new and innovative approaches to improving quality of life in the city’s underserved areas.
The program’s upcoming community outreach event for BUILD is scheduled for October 3rd from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM at Bunn Field, 1300 E. Division Street. Admission is free to the public. The event will showcase exhibits from a variety of the City of Springfield departments and community partners, with an aim to offer vital information and resources, as well as to gather feedback on strengthening community ties.
Activities throughout the event will include:
- Touch-a-Truck
- Free haircuts
- Inflatables and face painting
- Free health screenings
- Complimentary food from Manny D’s BBQ
- Access to community resources
