Tool bassist Justin Chancellor says he is already working on new music for the band while staying home and self-isolating. Speaking with Bass magazine, Chancellor revealed that he is working on material for some outside projects, adding, “Last but not least, I’ve written some interesting riffs which will be reserved for Tool!”
Among Chancellor's other projects are some ideas with Peter Murphy of Bauhaus, music for a film and an album highlighting different bass players. He added that he's also been cleaning the house with his wife, gardening, and restoring a “15-foot tall Statue of Liberty head, an old movie prop I purchased years ago on a tipsy impulse, which is attached to my studio.”
Chancellor’s update follows recent comments from Tool drummer Danny Carey, who said he, Chancellor and guitarist Adam Jones were going to try to get together and work on songs for an EP.
Tool recently postponed its spring North American tour as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and currently has no other dates on its schedule.
