On April 4, 2025 – at approximately 12:03 a.m. – Springfield Police responded to the Main Gate Bar and Grill, 2143 N. 11th Street for a report of a person with a weapon.
Witnesses on scene advised a male had been involved in a disturbance inside the business and was asked to leave.
The male told the staff he was going to retrieve a firearm from his vehicle.
The man retrieved a firearm from his vehicle and pointed it at several patrons outside the bar prior to driving away. Police located and stopped the vehicle in the area shortly thereafter; a loaded Taurus 9mm was located in his pocket.
Kaidon M. Holdman, 22 years old, of Athens, was arrested for aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and driving under the influence; he was later transported to the Sangamon County Jail.
