The trial of Sean Grayson, an officer involved in the shooting death of Massey, is set to begin on October 20 at 9 a.m.
The trial has been moved to Peoria County after Grayson’s attorney argued that extensive media coverage made it nearly impossible to select an impartial jury.
Massey was shot and killed by Grayson at her home near Springfield on July 6, 2024.
Grayson and other officers were responding to a 911 call she placed about a potential prowler outside her home.
