The Sangamon County Coroner, Jim Allmon, announced on Thursday that his office had identified the skeletal remains found on April 18, 2025, in a wooded area near the 1700 block of North Milton Avenue in Grandview.
Jeremy Register, 36, of Virden, was scientifically identified, and their next of kin has been notified.
The coroner noted that the cause of death is yet undetermined at this time, and is pending additional studies.
The death remains under investigation by the Sangamon County Coroner and the Springfield Police Department.
