The annual State of Greater Springfield included positive economic and lifestyle updates from the heads of city and county government.

The Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce held the annual luncheon at President Abraham Lincoln Hotel by Doubletree on Tuesday.

Springfield Mayor Misty Buscher announced the revival of the Mayor Tim Davlin-era Springfield Green project, devoted to beautifying the Springfield urban landscape, improving cleanliness, and enhancing the overall appeal of the downtown walking experience.

Sangamon County Board Chairman Andy Van Meter said a directive given to him by Governor JB Pritzker and his wife is to ensure that the community is a priority of the county and city’s development efforts.
