It was announced on Friday that the Illinois State Police Division of Criminal Investigation Zone 4 Major Crimes agents had arrested 26-year-old Justin Shull of Springfield, IL, for 10 counts of Possession of Child Pornography (Class 2 Felony).

In September 2024, ISP special agents initiated an investigation into internet crimes against children in the Springfield area.

During the investigation, ISP investigators assigned to the Office of the Illinois Attorney General Internet Crimes against Children Task Force (ICAC) gathered digital evidence indicating Shull possessed child sexual abuse material at his residence in Springfield.

On June 18, 2025, ISP special agents arrested Shull and transported him to the Sangamon County Jail.

There is no additional information at this time. ISP provides resources for parents, for the public to report crimes against children, and for survivors to start their path towards healing and recovery.
