WMAY’s Patrick Pfingsten reports in his The Illinoize newsletter for Tuesday morning that Governor JB Pritzker will announce his campaign for a third term for Governor this week.
Pritzker is expected to announce his run for re-election Thursday in Chicago.
He’s hoping to be the first chief executive to win a third full term since Jim Thompson in 1986.
No Democrat has ever been elected to three terms.
Pritzker’s campaign did not confirm the news Monday night.
