A 34-year-old man from Springfield died after being pulled from Lake Springfield on Tuesday afternoon. Sangamon County Coroner Jim Allmon said emergency workers responded to the 400 block of East Lake Shore Drive, where the man was pulled from the water.
Allmon said the man was pronounced dead in the HSHS St. John’s Hospital emergency room at about 1:45 p.m. The man’s identity has not been released.
The coroner’s office and Springfield Police are investigating.
