A Rochester teenager has been identified as the person shot and killed on Monday on Springfield’s east side.
Sangamon County Coroner Jim Allmon said 18-year-old Ayden Paige was pronounced dead shortly after arrival before 7 pm at HSHS St. John’s Hospital.
Allmon said an autopsy showed Paige died from a single gunshot wound.
Springfield Police responded to a report of gunshots at about 6 pm in the 2200 block of South 14th Street. Two other people received non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. An investigation continues.
