Sherman Mayor Trevor Clatfelter said he has revoked all work permits for Comcast after numerous reports of damage to public and private property, including utility and sewer lines.
Clatfelter told village residents on social media on Monday that he and Public Works Director Sean Newton along with three police officers made an unannounced visit to a Comcast supervisor on Monday afternoon to order the utility to stop work. Clatfelter said the Comcast work has damaged utility lines, fiber optic cables, sewers, sidewalks, driveways and yards, adding that concrete repairs have been poor.
Clatfelter said damage included raw sewage flowing into a home’s basement after a sewer line was bored through. Clatfelter said Comcast will not be permitted to work in Sherman until a remediation plan is presented.
