Danzig’s first four albums have been officially reissued on vinyl for the first time since their original releases. The records are being offered via Universal Music, which acquired Danzig’s catalog in 2007. Pressed on black vinyl with standard or gatefold jackets and printed inner sleeves, these repressings include the New Jersey metal band’s iconic 1988 self-titled debut featuring hits like “Mother” and “Twist of Cain.” The reissues also include the follow-up albums, Danzig II – Lucifuge (1990), Danzig III: How The Gods Kill (1992), and Danzig 4 (1994), which, though less commercially successful, remain fan favorites. Danzig is led by former Misfits and Samhain frontman Glenn Danzig, who has recently stated that he is finished with making full albums, and will focus on creating singles instead. Danzig’s last album of original material was 2017’s Black Laden Crown, though Glenn surprised metal fans by releasing the covers album, Danzig Sings Elvis, in 2020. The Danzig reissues can be ordered via uDiscoverMusic. (Consequence of Sound)
