A former Springfield City Council candidate and financial advisor has pleaded guilty to endangering the life or health of a child in connection with the drowning of a 7-year-old boy in his foster care in 2024.
Judge Jack Davis sentenced David Yankee to two years’ probation and 180 days in jail, which is subject to review while Yankee is in custody.
The boy, Barrett Koches, drowned in a pool at Yankee’s home.
