A woman found dead in Clinton has led to the arrest of her husband, who is facing five counts of murder
Clinton police arrested Nicholas Smith on Saturday after finding the body of his wife Cassandra Smith in a vehicle near Sunrise Court in the city on Saturday night.
Cassandra had been the subject of a wellness check call as well as a missing/endangered persons alert on Friday April 24th.
Initial reports are that Cassandra Smith died of multiple blunt force injuries.
Her husband Nicholas Smith is currently being held in DeWitt county jail.
Nicholas Smith is next scheduled to appear in court on June 1st.
