Meet Our Latest Friend
The Morning Routine with Rocki and Lacey was joined by Natalia Galica from Sister Cities Association of Springfield, Illinois. Natalia Galica shared with us how she ended up here in Springfield and her experiences with travel throughout her lifetime and how that brought her to the Sister Cities Association.
In an increasingly connected world, local communities are finding meaningful ways to build international relationship and Springfield, Illinois is no exception. The Sister Cities Association of Springfield, Illinois (SCASIL) plays a key role in fostering global connections through cultural exchange and citizen diplomacy.
Springfield’s sister city partnerships span several countries, including Japan, Mexico, China, and Ireland. These relationships provide opportunities for residents to experience different cultures firsthand through student exchanges, delegation trips, and community events. Programs often allow participants to “walk in someone else’s shoes,” gaining a deeper appreciation for global traditions and perspectives.
If you’d like to support the Sister Cities Association, the have an upcoming fundraiser at Izumi Rotary Sushi Bar on June 10th. Come out between 2-6pm to help support their next delegation of travelers!
