A wedding venue in Texas called Posey Meadows is catching heat online.
A while back, a couple shelled out around $16,000 for a wedding that was supposed to happen next month . . . but sadly, the 25-year-old groom passed away back in April, seven months before the wedding.
Since then, the family has been trying to get a refund, but Posey Meadows REFUSES to do that, because their contract contains no clause for DEATH.
They told the family: If there’s no wedding, they could throw ANOTHER kind of party . . . OR they could get credit to have a future wedding there.
Naturally, the family finds those options frustrating. When you’re mourning a death, you’re probably not looking to PARTY at the place where a wedding was supposed to be . . . or thinking about a FUTURE MARRIAGE with a replacement groom.
Even worse, the family had to sue, and Posey Meadows is now countersuing them, asking for the remaining balance . . . arguing that they want to see proof of the groom’s death.
A court of law will decide this as a contract dispute, but the Posey Meadows venue may have already lost in the court of public opinion. Their Google listing and Facebook page are getting inundated with negative reviews.
(Here’s a local news report on the story.)
