A Springfield Police sergeant was arrested for driving under the influence in Chatham on July 4.
Springfield Police said on its transparency page of the city website that Lindzee Carpenter was immediately stripped of her police powers and placed on administrative leave as the department began an internal investigation.
Springfield Police said no further comment will be made until the investigation is complete. Carpenter’s first court appearance is scheduled for August 25th
