Springfield Memorial Hospital is offering free mammograms during this Breast Cancer Awareness Month for women age 40 or older who are uninsured or underinsured. Appointments are required by calling 217-757-4211.
The screenings are funded by Springfield Memorial Foundation.
The American College of Radiology and Society of Breast Imaging recommend all women 40 years of age and older have screening mammograms annually. Breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death among women in the nation.
