A new Sangamon County Board member has been sworn in to serve the Pawnee area.
The board on Tuesday unanimously approved the appointment of Lanae Clarke to fill the remaining four months of the term left vacant by the resignation of Jeff Thomas in June.
Clarke ran unopposed for the Republican nomination for the seat and will run unopposed in November.
