A security officer at Springfield Memorial Hospital has been honored for pulling a woman from railroad tracks just seconds before a train approached.
The hospital said Caleb Patrick was conducting a routine patrol at an SMH facility on July 29 when he saw the woman lying on the tracks.
A security camera recording showed Patrick ran to the tracks and pulled the woman away just 26 seconds before the train passed by.
Patrick was recognized by Memorial Health, the City of Springfield and Springfield Police during a ceremony on Wednesday.
