Downtown Wyndham agrees to house some recovering COVID-19 patients

Sangamon County has entered into a four-month lease agreement with the group that owns the Wyndham Springfield City Centre, 700 E. Adams St., for the temporary housing of recovering COVID-19 patients in the 369-room downtown hotel.The agreement between the county and Tower Capital Group, signed Wednesday, calls for a “per room, per day” approach where the county will pay $79.10 per room occupied on any calendar date.
