Sangamon sets ‘scary’ and ‘sad’ record with 51 new COVID-19 cases

Sangamon County on Tuesday reported a record one-day number of new COVID-19 cases — 51 people ranging in age from their teens to their 80s.And 56 new cases were reported in Logan County, where there have been outbreaks at two prisons.In Morgan County, Coroner Marcy Patterson reported that a 93-year-old man died Tuesday at Jacksonville Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center – becoming the seventh fatality linked to an outbreak there.
